Services
========

The CTI project requests that all services providers use FOSS to provide the
services that project uses. The use of FOSS for the services is a mandatory
requirement.

The IT service provider is the LF IT core projects team.

The following services are currently being provided by CTI via the Linux Foundation IT:

* Video conferencing services

    * Service uses `BBB <https://github.com/bigbluebutton/bigbluebutton>`_
      which is FOSS and LGPL-3.0 licensed.

    * Active users:

      * glibc: Used for weekly `patch triage meetings <https://sourceware.org/glibc/wiki/PatchworkReviewMeetings>`_.

      * GNU Toolchain: `Monthly office hours <https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/OfficeHours>`_
        for the GNU Toolchain.

* Mail and mailing list services

    * List uses `MLMMJ <http://mlmmj.org/>`_ which is FOSS and MIT licensed.

    * Archives use `Public Inbox <https://public-inbox.org/HACKING.html>`_ which is FOSS
      and AGPLv3 licensed.

    * `Top level website <https://subspace.kernel.org/>`_ uses
      `Sphinx <https://www.sphinx-doc.org/en/master/>`_ which is FOSS
      and BSD licesned.

    * `Mail delivery <https://subspace.kernel.org/software.html>`_ uses
      `Postfix <https://www.postfix.org/>`_ which is
      FOSS and Eclipse Public License v2 and IBM Public License v1.

    * Active users:

      * CTI TAC mailing lists:
          * https://lore.kernel.org/cti-tac/

* Version control services (VCS)

    * Service uses `Gitolite <https://github.com/sitaramc/gitolite>`_ which is
      FOSS and GPL-2.0 licensed.

    * Service uses `CGit <https://git.zx2c4.com/cgit/about/>`_ which is FOSS and
      GPLv2+ licensed.

    * Active users:

      * Core Toolchain Infrastructure project documentation repository.
        * Authenticated access: ``git clone gitolite.coretoolchain.dev:cti/cti.coretoolchain.dev``
        * `Read-only anonymous mirror (cgit) <https://git.coretoolchain.dev>`_

CTI uses only free and open source software (FOSS) to provide these services
and aims to comply with the `GNU Ethical Repository hosting criteria
<https://www.gnu.org/software/repo-criteria.en.html>`_ category B.
